About John Hasenberg Architect
John Hasenberg works personally with his clients to craft his unique designs for every architectural project. Since 1980, John has completed over 1000 projects, ranging in scale from simple dormers, kitchens, great rooms and master suite additions, to custom homes and commercial office buildings. He is known for his seamless historical additions as well as his transformational whole house remodels. John's success is also due to his ability to execute designs that get built within his client's budget.
John Hasenberg's projects have been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, Home Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Remodeling Magazine, Professional Builder, The Oregonian, and Oregon Magazine.
Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, John's formal education was also Midwestern. He earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree in architecture from the University of Illinois. After graduating in 1975 and working as an apprentice in Illinois, John moved to Portland, Oregon, and worked with several local firms before forming a partnership with Mitch Gilbert in 1980, Gilbert/Hasenberg Architects. In 1994 John started his own firm, John Hasenberg Architect. His office is located in the Hollywood District of Portland.
